QxControl Dec 2023 Release: Expanded Door Controller Compatibility

The December 2023 QxControl Update has been released!

This update brings Expanded Door Controller Compatibility with the support of the Axis A1210 and A1610 Network Door Controllers, new UI enhancements with expanded contextual Tool Tips, a highlight on the powerful Remote Management of QxControl, as well as numerous performance improvements.

NEW: Expanded Door Controller Compatibility

QxControl is all about flexibility, and that extends to the access control hardware as well. Unlike many access control solutions, with QxControl you can use a mix of controller models and brands on a single site. Whether you have a specific need that is met across different hardware platforms, or wish to expand from the existing hardware using our QXEP Mercury based hardware, Qumulex allows you to choose from any compatible controller.

In this Dec 2023 update the Axis A1210 and A1610 door controllers are now supported in QxControl. 

AXIS A1210 Network Door Controller is a compact, competitively priced door controller and includes everything needed to control one door. It features a keyhole mounting plate and support for DIN rail mount for fast and easy installation on walls. Also available is AXIS A1210-B Network Door Controller, a stackable, barebone model ideal for installation in small spaces such as existing or newly installed cabinets.

AXIS A1610 Network Door Controller includes everything needed to control two doors. This advanced, plenum-rated device offers support for DIN rail mounts for fast and easy installation on walls. The other model, AXIS A1610-B Network Door Controller, is an edge-based UL recognized barebone door controller. Sold without a top cover, it’s excellent for building customized access control solutions offering easy integration into QxControl.

NEW UI Enhancements: Contextual Tool Tips for Places

We've added in QxControl the addition of Tool Tips that provide context for a device’s location in the QxControl hierarchy. These Tool Tips display the path when hovering over the Places icon: 

These Tool Tips provide valuable context for where the device is in your hierarchy, and enhance the ease and efficiency of QxControl's native multi-tenant management.

These Tool Tips work in Live with all widgets, as well as the Devices, Cameras, Doors pages, and all pages that display the Places location. 

Throughout the QxControl app are many more Tool Tips as you hover over the various options, giving greater context as to what each option provides. These make QxControl even more intuitive and easy to use. 

Feature Highlight: Remote Management

Remote Management is one of the more powerful features of QxControl.

You can use QxControl from anywhere to add new devices using the Discover Devices tool. Once added, you can manage all settings for the device using the Device Info Page.

You can remotely Reboot a camera using the Reboot function.

The same Config menu enables you to enter Go to Webpage and access the web interface of cameras and door controllers. This enables managing all factory settings for these devices no matter where you are, including configuring motion detection, analytics, and even allows for the updating of firmware, all without needing to travel onsite! 

QxControl has a built-in Proxy service that allows you to log directly into remote devices that are in your scope, securely, and without additional configuration or port forwarding.
