The Sept 2023 QxControl update has been released!
In this update, QxControl now fully utilizes QXEP/Mercury I/O’s enabling enhanced rules actions for lockdowns and more! You can now also use I/O’s to create input or output triggers using Onvif cameras with I/O.
There's a NEW Authentication page in User Settings that enables configuring native Two-Factor Authentication with an Authenticator App and allows you to view and cancel any login sessions globally for the user.
Other enhancements include improved fisheye dewarping for Oncam cameras, more responsive user experience, backend scalability enhancements and more, making this one of our biggest updates ever.
Here are all the details on the Sept 2023 QxControl update:
NEW: Digital I/O Support for Onvif Cameras & HID Mercury
With this update you will now be able to configure I/O ports on your HID Mercury hardware (such as our QXEP Qumulex Enterprise Panels) and Onvif S cameras that offer I/O via the Onvif profile.
With I/O support you will now see feedback on these I/O ports in several places throughout QxControl. In Live, you will see a new Widget that shows I/O status:
In the Wiring Info Page (Devices) you can view available I/O ports, and for HID Mercury ports, you can also trigger the I/O ports for testing by clicking on it:
Most importantly, QxControl can now receive triggers from inputs or trigger outputs as part of a Rule. Using the scalability and power of our Rules Engine allows you to now incorporate many layers of actions based upon an input trigger, or in the displayed example, can be used to trigger output conditions based on status, such as a Lockdown:
NEW: Two-Factor Authentication & Global Sign-Out
Using the new QxControl Authentication page, you can take advantage of two new enhancements to the cyber security of QxControl.
First, you can see all sessions currently logged in for the user.
If desired, you can choose to log out all sessions with one click using “Sign Out Everywhere”. This is extremely useful for situations where you may see unexpected sessions, or to easily log out from all devices without doing so from each one individually.
Next, you can now set 2FA directly from QxControl by choosing “Generate Token” and entering the Keys into your favorite authenticator app. Using this method of 2FA is highly secure and allows you to set 2FA natively in QxControl.
NEW: QxControl UI Enhancements
This update contains a number of key enhancements to the QxControl UI , offering improved visibility and an enhanced user experience.
A big enhancement is that you can now rapidly scroll through all available Camera Widgets in Live, no matter how many you have.
Additional detail is now provided when setting Scope, making it easier to understand the context of your current Scope setting and the setting you are about to choose.
Also, the UI overall gives a more responsive user experience.
Additionally, this release contains improvements and enhancements such as showing all available camera widgets in Live, more responsive user experience, sharper fisheye dewarping for Oncam cameras and more.
